A poor result, but it proved enough to put us in second place and secure promotion into the Premier League for next year.

A crushing home win with only the Gillmeister and Crofty failing to register wins.  Smiler's focussed grimace soon changed into that familiar Cheshire cat grin as he lapped up the kitty - the cat got the cream once more.  However, it is still Bert preening himself at the top of the kitty chart. All round a good win which will keep us in second place and it is all in our hands going into the final match of the season next week.

The wandering gypsy returned and promptly stole the kitty (and the top of the kitty chart) in this very tight top of the table clash at St Annes.  Unfortunately the Saints came marching in at the end, but it could have been so different if Peter and Steve had come in winning in the last two very close games.  This now means we have no chance of the title but could hold onto second spot.

Another steady away performance, coming back well after having three losers in the first four.  Sir Geoff only entered the arena late but what an entry he made.  Once more this colossus of a bowler was in unstoppable form, slaying his opponent to take the kitty.  However, Smiler was somewhat deluded in believing he was easily top of the kitty chart - whilst he has now moved to joint third he still has a little way to go to reach the summit.  One unusual occurrence was Ian bowling his first wood before the block....and they said I wouldn't mention it.  Something else of mild amusement (to those of us with minds that work that way) was the car in the pub car park emblazoned with the name 'P. Ennis' .......photo to follow if Steve gets round to it.  You'd have to be a bit of a knob to have that on your car!!

A balmy sultry night at the Mill, with the team missing the Captain and figurehead (Gypsy Rose Traverse) who was off to another of his travellers sites.  However the team responded well on a green that meant it was more like bowling on glass than grass.  However both Ian and Ritchie, who shared the kitty, did not appear to be too perturbed by the conditions. It could have been an even better victory if the two scores of 19 had been turned into victories.  Smiler unfortunately failed at the climax in front of a bumper crowd, which consisted of a visiting american 'soccer' team.  Steve and Ian introduced them to the delights of the beautiful game shortly afterwards and some of them would have made half decent players.

The Bill was presented and the kitty duly paid up in this fine away win at a very warm Skem Park.  Captain Fantastic also played his part crushing the Boy Wonder.  The Pike resurfaced for a first Tuesday appearance for a while, although he was quickly submerged by his opponent.

A Captain's performance from the great man himself to take the kitty - at last someone manages to catch Ian at the top of the kitty chart!!.  All the losers were by fairly narrow margins, apart from Crofty who got totally bowled over by the Ball.

A superb away win on what we usually find to be a trick green.  A first kitty win on a Tuesday for 'Love Machine' Makin, was the highlight of the evening, and the 'Village People' were left marvelling at this 'young man'.  However, this was just one amongst many good performances, only Brian and Dick failing to bring home any points.

A good win for the Millers, although another winner would have taken us into second place in the table, above our opponents.  It has been a long time coming, but Sir Geoff strode in with his first kitty win of the year in this league, putting the smile back into 'Smiler'.

A good result to finally put the Millers back to winning ways.  Bill was presented and duly paid with the kitty cheque, after a win to 4.  The green was running fast and proved tricky for many of the players with many bowls sliding into the gutters.  As we move into the second half of the season let's hope that this form can be maintained.

A top of the table clash that ended in a very narrow victory for the visitors from St Annes by just one point.  It was a cold and wet night that, in our view, levelled this match.  There was a three way tie for the kitty between Ian, Dick and Peter, but this match is best now forgotten and we should now be concentrating on catching up St Annes who are now 6 points clear at the top.

Lying in second place before this match the team were determined to get a good result.  And they certainly got it notching a veritable orgasm of points against a Hightown team who didn't play the green too badly.  Only Luuv Makin failed to come good at the climax of this match and it was left to Captain Fantastic to snatch the kitty.  Could we go top - we'll have to wait and see.  Unusually there is still no kitty win for Smiler - will he break his duck next week against current league leaders St Annes?
